Roads To Memphis Activity

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a United States federal holiday marking the birthday of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. It is observed on the third Monday of January each year, which is around the time of King's birthday, January 15. The floating holiday is similar to holidays set under the Uniform Monday Holiday Act, though the act predated the establishment of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day by 15 years.

On Wednesday, January 11th, "Roads To Memphis", a documentary about MLK's death will be shown to Upward Bound students. Students signed up for this activity as their requirement for monthly activities.

Below is a description of "Roads To Memphis":
On April 4, 1968, escaped convict James Earl Ray shot and killed Dr. Martin Luther King. This is the fateful narrative of the killer and his prey, set against the seething, turbulent forces in American society at that time.
