Mission
The Upward Bound project affirms the mission of Avila University by providing support to individuals who are traditionally underrepresented in higher education for entry into and completion of a postsecondary degree.
Goals
- Provide a postsecondary education access program to students in the Kansas City metropolitan area
- Partner with the United States Department of Education, Kansas City area schools, and as well as campus and community entities to provide a highly effective educational access program
- Explore local, regional, and national partnership opportunities to provide educational access to the disadvantaged and underrepresented
- Gather and process information regarding local trends and program performance that illustrate the current state of educational opportunity in Kansas City
